Seed Quilt Ripping and Ballooning

Depending on how fast the plants grow, the Seed Quilt™ cover will either rip, balloon, or both!  Both of these behaviors are normal and your plants will grow just fine either way.

RIPPING

HAMAMA | Planting Steps | Ripping 1

Four to six days after planting, sprouting seeds have pushed against cover, ripping the Seed Quilt.  Remove the cover pieces or let it be. The [lants will grow and push them out of the way!

HAMAMA | Planting Steps | Ripping 2

If desired, peel away cover pieces and compost them in the food and yard waste bin. All Seed Quilt materials are industrially compostable! Place tray in a sunny window or a room with overhead lighting.

BALLOONING

HAMAMA | Planting Steps | Ballooning 1

Four to six days after planting, sprouting seeds have pushed against cover, ballooning the Seed Quilt.

HAMAMA | Planting Steps | Ballooning 2

Peel away cover and compost it in the food and yard waste bin. All Seed Quilt materials are industrially compostable! Place tray with uncovered sprouts in a sunny window or a room with overhead lighting.
